Latin American medical students participate in the LATIMGS Academic Program in the US, where they undergo clinical rotations in specialty clinics and prepare for the USMLE exams
We foster a culture of academic excellence by encouraging the authoring of meta-analyses and systematic reviews. Through our research groups, we facilitate collaboration and ensure our members remain updated in their respective fields.
Upon passing the STEP 1 exam, they can enroll in the Social Service Program, gaining research experience while preparing for STEP 2. Successful completion of STEP 2 may lead to a paid position in research clinics for a year, providing invaluable clinical and research exposure. This hands-on experience enhances their competitiveness for medical residency applications. Within the Med Students program, students are required to submit a minimum of one paper per semester and present at least one abstract, fostering the development of their research and communication skills for future academic and professional endeavors.
